5 Tips for snow photography

- Preparation
A good preparation is a must when you’re going on a trip. Make sure you’ve got enough batteries with you and enough space on your memory card.
- White Balance
Photographing snow doesn’t always give you the nicest colors when shooting with automatic white balance. Change your white balance to a warmer color temperature for more beautiful colors.
- Go on an early adventure!
Untouched snow is much nicer than snow which has been touched by many people, bikers and cars. In addition, early morning light is very beautiful.
- Is it still snowing? Solar Hood!
Is it still snowing when you’re photographing? Use a Solar Hood for your lens. It reduces the amount of snowflakes falling on your lens.
- Details
Snow on the leaves, hoarfrost on the branches or icicles. Detail photos with winter weather can be very nice.
