DNP WCM Plus AirPrint Module

Print photos wirelessly with your DNP printer: meet the WCM Plus. For example, use AirPrint on iPhone, iPad and macOS. There is also built-in support for Android 11 and newer, without the need to download an external app. On Windows 10 and 11, you also print from all programs.

Key Features DNP WCM Plus Airprint Module:

  • Wireless and wired via AirPrint: The WCM Plus has built-in support to print wirelessly via AirPrint. Or wired, via an optional LAN to USB adapter.
  • Universal on multiple printers: the WCM Plus works with all DNP printers. You connect up to 3 at the same time.
  • Perfect for photobooths: do you have a photobooth with iPad? Then connect your iPad to your DNP printer very easily, thanks to the WCM Plus.

Here's how it works in practice:

  1. Connect the WCM Plus to the printer's usb port with the included usb-b to usb-a cable.
  2. Turn on the printer. Power the WCM Plus with the power adapter (EU) provided.
  3. The WCM Plus transmits its own Wi-Fi signal. All devices connecting to it can access the printer(s) wirelessly.

Internet connection via WCM Plus

It is often desirable to have simultaneous connection to the Internet while printing from your computer/tablet/smartphone. This can be either wired or wireless. If you want to work wired, connect a UTP cable to the WCM Plus. The Internet signal from the UTP cable then becomes available to devices connected to the WCM Plus via WiFi. It is also possible to connect wirelessly. Here the WCM Plus connects wirelessly to an existing wifi network, after which the WCM Plus creates its own wifi network (with a different SSID). To set this up, log into the configuration page of the WCM Plus (see last paragraph).

Printing via the browser with WCM Plus

In addition to the WCM Plus support for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Android and Windows, you also print from any other device in the browser. To do this, that device connects to the WCM Plus's Wi-Fi network, then you open the website '192.168.4.1/print' in the browser. From here, a photo of your choice can be printed in a format of your choice.

Photobooths and other apps with WCM Plus

There are many apps that are compatible with the WCM Plus. Photobooths often use Apple's AirPrint, with the WCM Plus now providing a reliable link between the DNP printer and the iPad. The following iPad apps have support for AirPrint:

  • Curator PixBooth 2
  • Luma Booth
  • Simple Booth Halo
  • Simple Booth Halo 2
  • SnapPic Booth
  • Salsa Booth
  • Photo Media Booth
  • Babeland Photo
  • Photo Booth
  • Darkroom Booth for iPad

Future compatibility, reliability and availability of these apps are not guaranteed.

Other options WCM Plus

There are several other options and settings for the WCM Plus. Below is a list. Curious about all the options? Then download the manual at the very bottom of this page.

  • Adjust the SSID and password of the Wi-Fi network yourself
  • Connect & print from 5 or more devices simultaneously
  • Connect an antenna to increase the range (recommended: TP-Link Archer T3U Plus)
  • Always see printer status, media inserted and number of prints remaining via the web interface
  • Choose between a wired or Wi-Fi connection to your iPad (wired via an optional USB-to-UTP adapter)
  • Store photos in the WCM Plus archive
  • Print photos wirelessly from an optional EZ Share SD card
  • Print photos wirelessly from FTP, e.g. directly with high-end cameras (e.g. Sony A7, Canon EOS R5)

Connecting in practice

After connecting all devices, a Wi-Fi network will be available after 30 seconds. To this you log in with the following data (these are customizable):

SSID: DNPWCM-xxx (the last three characters are unique to your device).
Password: dnp12345

Next, manage all the settings by going to the following website on your device in the browser: '192.168.4.1'. If you need to log in to this page, use the following credentials (these can be modified and/or disabled):

Username: dnpwcm
Password: password
(the password is literally 'password')

Difference between the WCM Plus and the WCM2

The WCM Plus is the successor to the WCM2. Photos are already sent to the printer in less than 10 seconds, which is much faster than with the WCM2. Also, the whole interface is faster and more stable. So is the hardware: a powerful processor and metal housing.

Included:

  • 1x Usb-b to usb-a cable
  • 1x Power adapter usb-c (5v, 3A, EU plug)
